Martina is not only a University of Trento student and  AIESEC Trento member, but also our exchange participant.

Martina went abroad with AIESEC Trento and is right now in Colombia for summer working for Fondacion Pompeya in the communication and marketing area. We catched up with her to hear her first impressions about the experience:

1. What's the biggest difference you have discovered for now between Italy and Colombia?

Actually - everything here is a huge difference between Colombia and Italy. Weather, people, lifestyle, life standard, food and etc. However, I think the thing that has impressed me the most is the behaviour of Colombians with foreign people, the so called "gringos". On one hand, they are always trying to cheat you, but on the other hand, if you are introduced to them by other Colombians they treat you very well.

My host family is extremely nice with me and they help me with everything I need without any problem.

2. What's the best thing about Colombia this far?

The best thing is the attitude of people.

People are more poor in comparison to Italy, but they don't complaint. Most of them look forward for some kind of solution in order to make their life better. At the end of the day, just to sum up, Italians (and me too sometimes) if something goes wrong usually complain; Colombians (at least most of them), on the other hand, if something goes wrong try to find an alternative solution.

Martina has been in Colombia now for almost 2 weeks, stay tune to read more about her adventures once she is back in Italy.
